Plenty of people with business in the agriculture field will be on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds on February 16-18, 2024 for the Mississippi Ag and Outdoor Expo – and with good reason.

Agriculture is Mississippi’s No. 1 industry, employing around 17.4% of the state’s workforce, generating $7.35 billion annually. Mississippi has almost 35,000 farms covering 10.4 million acres, the average farm covering 300 acres.

Eggs and poultry account for $2.16 billion annually, followed by soybeans at $1.2 billion, forestry products $1.13 billion, cotton $491 million and corn $397 million.

With Fall on the horizon, farmers will be able to find everything on their list of needed equipment at the Expo, which will be headquartered in the Trade Mart building. Also, for landowners and wildlife managers planning to plant warm-season food plots, vendors will be available to supply their needs.

Farm equipment dealers will be on hand to present their latest wares in terms of combines, tractors and accessories that farmers need to bring in that corn, cotton or soybean crop.

The Mississippi Outdoor Expo is proud to partner with the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, which was created by the state legislature in 1906 to regulate and promote agricultural-related business in the Magnolia State.
